Aids the deadly disease has now been degraded to a chronic managable disease. most of this is due to the fact that third world countries where the incidence of such diseaes are high, have resorted to generic cheap versions of vital aids drugs.
So what is a generic drug?
in short it is a copy cat drug which has the same affect of the original but is ten times less expensive . generic drugs are manufactured by lessed pharmacies by reverse analyis of the original drug.
so whats the problem?
talk to any westerner and he will tell you the exhorbitant costs of hospital treatment in the developed countries. infact health tourism has become a very viable option for the citizens of capitalist countries, wherein they seek cheaper medical help in other countries.
the root f the problem is money. while corporate pharmacies spend millions on research and development lesser known competitors steal the benefits of their research.thus suposedly stealing from them.countries like india overcome intellectual property rights by a simple clause that only the process of making a product and not the product itself is protected under copyright laws....meaning its legally alright to add 1+2+3 as 2+3+1 or even as 3+1+2.
Morals or ethic?
while ethics would tell you it is wrong to steal from others morality tells you that medicine as a science is made for patients and not the other way around. so what if i steal from you? as long as it is for a justified cause i am not guilty. while we venerate characters like Robin Hood who stole fromt the rich to give to the poor while cant we the human side of saving lives ,lives that cant afford expensive medication, lives that are dependent on generic drugs.
while globalization is Ok as such we must not corrupt it with greed and selfishness. humanity needs large corporates to rise above economics to see the human side of the medical profession.
while it is so evident taht so many several third world countries are suffering because of climate change initiated by developing countries..i humbly ask eacha ndd every person who amy chance over this blog to take serious exception in the case of generic drugs. T.R.I.P.S needs to be rethought.
